THE BRONX BOYS

ONE OF THE MOST PROFOUND B BOYING CREWS EVER THAT THE ENTIRE GLOBAL ROCKING CULTURES SHOULD BE LEARNING ITS AMAZING HISTORICAL EVENTS, IS THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW. ITS REMARKABLE HISTORY WILL LEAD YOU TO THE TRUE FACTS ABOUT ROCK STEADY CREW CREATION AND SO MUCH MORE REALIZATION THAT MANY WILL BECOME DUMB STRUCK. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE THAT CALL THE DANCE ART FORM OF ROCKING "BREAK DANCE", YOU ARE (NEEDLESS TO SAY) LOST IN THE SAUCE.
RESPECTFULLY SPEAKING, I AM Batch Fhtbb

THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW
A/K/A
TBB ROCKING CREW

To all the dedicated B-Boys around the world today who have been keeping this unique and fascinating dance form alive...
let me share a brief history of TBB Rocking Crew as it was actually a graffiti crew in the mid 1970's...  it only contained three young members Cash, Shark, and myself Batch.

Cash and Shark were the one's who inspired me at the beginning.  My Graffiti name was BAT, but I wanted to change it cause it was only 3 letters in my name. So, I told Cash I wanted more letters in my name and Cash said "Yo Bat all you need to do is add "C&H"" I ask him What that meant and Shark and Cash at the same time said BATCH... and I was fascinated....

Cash and Shark were dedicated to graffiti art, and not Rock Dancing.  While on the other hand it was in me and i was a wild young kid who was very much attracted to the dance... and so the story begins of me BATCH...and soon after Cash gave me the name and charge of TBB.   But, when it came to graffiti Cash lead the way.. he was the head Pres of TBB in graffiti art.

During those old school days Rocking and Graffiti were the two best things for the young people growing up in the Bronx, and tagging up was what motivated us the most since it contained the substance of what fame was to become of The Bronx Boys.

We used to sip on a wine that only cost a dollar for a full extra large pint...  this wine was called "Night Train" and If you was a Graffiti artist back then you'd know what I'm talking about. It got us warmed up, and ready to go bombing (tagging).

In the mid 1970's Rocking was in it's prime and graffiti was hotter than ever which we devoted our lives for and fame we seeked... Cash and Shark called it a day, and went their separate ways, and I officially made TBB into TBB Rocking Crew.

Bboys was in full effect and up Rockin fell apart almost the instant bboying occured.

Leading up to the end of the 1970's TBB became one of the biggest crews out there and it's members made a profound impact on what would later become a worldwide dance culture.

Mr Wiggles interviews Crazy Legs on 70's bboy's

Mr Wiggles
Legs: Please name some of your Favorite 70's Rock Steady BBOYS, And what Moves or Trademarks they had, And info on there Style?
Crazy Legs:
WOW! I see you got me doing homework here. haha. Ok. The ones that will always stand out to me are Spy "Man With a Thousand Moves" (Cc Crew) nuff said on that. Mongo Rock (Tbb) for his intricate combos. Willie Will (Rockwell Association) for his acrobatic element combined with technical foundation. Jimmy D (Tbb) for his inspiring Twisting style. For example: His swipes are what mine were modeled after. Jimmy Lee for ability to throw swipes from any angle. His back swipe was very inspirational to me. Weebles (Tbb) was insane and the master of the "hand glide". No one did it better with bare hands.
Mr Wiggles
Please elaborate on Mongo's Combination style. What kids of moves did he Combination? and Did he rock Fast Combos? Would you say he was Doing Text first? (Like a ton of small moves connected)
Crazy Legs:
Well, it's not like there were power moves back then. It's more about how long their combos were and how intricate they were as well. I'm not going to sit here and say that they would smoke people in this day and age. But for their time, the power was in the understanding of the foundation and how much you can do with so little that existed. Mongo was one of those that made simple shit harder for others to do, because of his presentation and creativity.

TBB HISTORICAL FACTS:

* THE 1RST CHAPTER/DIVISION ESTABLISHED BY BATCH WAS GIVEN TO TBB JOE A.K.A. BON2 IN1977 FOR BRONX PARK SOUTH / WEST FARMS RD./ ALSO EAST TREMONT CAN BE CONSIDERED CORRECT…

* THE 2ND CHAPTER/DIVISION ESTABLISHED BY BATCH WAS GIVEN TO GODFATHER IN 1978, FOR DAVIDSON AVE. / FORDHAM RD.

* THE 3RD CHAPTER/DIVISION ESTABLISHED BY BATCH WAS GIVEN TO JIMMY LEE IN 1978 FOR BURNSIDE AVE.

* WEEBLES A.K.A. L-MACK WAS CREDITED FOR CREATING THE FIRST "HAND GLIDE" IN 1979 AT JERRY A.K.A. RUM6's BUILDING ON DAVIDSON AVE. AND JIMMY DEE CALLED IT A "FLOAT".

*TRACE2- BACKSPIN TO PRETZEL.. IN REFERENCE TO THE ACTUAL FREEZE CRAZY LEGS DOES IN FLASHDANCE…… YOU CAN SEE ONE OF HIS HANDS GO THROUGH ONE OF HIS LEGS AND THE OTHER AROUND HIS NECK, AND AS HE LOCKS THEM IT LOOKS LIKE A PRETZEL…. AND THE REASON THAT THIS IS TRACE'S MOVE IS BECAUSE ITS EXACTLY HOW TRACE DID IT..… CRAZY LEGS "W" WHICH IS TRACE2's ORIGINAL MOVE CALLED THE BACK BREAKER AND BOTH MOVES WERE CREATED IN 1979.
(THE BACKSPIN THAT CRAZY LEGS DOES IN FLASHDANCE WAS CREATED BY MONGO …(IT WAS THE SECOND VERSION OF THE ORIGINAL BACKSPIN CREATED BY MONGO AND TRAC IN 1978)  THE ORIGINAL BACK SPIN WAS CREATED BY JOJO… BUT HE WAS NEVER A TBB MEMBER… HE WAS EXTENDED FAMILY… HE WAS AFFILIATED WITH TBB, CC CREW, AND STARCHILD BECAUSE HE HUNG AROUND THEM BUT WAS NEVER A MEMBER… THE ONLY CREW HE EVER REPPED WAS ROCK STEADY.
BUT ALL THE MEMBERS OF THESE CREWS AT THAT TIME WERE ALL EXTENDED FAMILY WEARING DIFFERENT CREW SHIRTS.

* RUBBERBAND TBB WAS FIRST TO ADD CONTORTION TO THE DANCE. IN 1978 BEFORE HE BECAME AN ORIGINAL ROCK STEADY MEMBER.

Rip7 TBB/Rock Steady
And we can't forget Mongo Rock who was one of the first I've seen do the top swipe from standing position 6 feet high and land back in standing position.
Me (Rip7), Webbles and Mongo went to the same JHS 118 along with Spy. I use to watch Mongo and Webbles practice in the back of the lunch room doing those high swipes like nothing lol...

Aby TBB: THE TBRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW WERE THE FIRST LATINO ROCKING TO BBOY CREW NOT THE FIRST BUT THE FIRST " LATINO ROCKING CREW " BATCH WAS THE ONE THE CREATED THE KICK OUTS !! U CAN SEE HIM IN THAT FRESHEST KIDS DVD ... IM THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RUSSIAN KICKS WHICH LATER BECAME THE CC'S & ALSO THE HELICOPTER AKA AROUND THE WORLD WHICH LATER BECAME THE BABY SWIPE THEN SWIPE ... L-MACK AKA WEBBLES WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HAND GLIDE AKA HAND FLOAT... TRACE2 CREATED THE MOVE ENDING UP ALL TWISTED AKA THE PRETZEL THAT CRAZY LEGS USED IN THE MOVIE FLASH DANCE ... BATCH'S TBB ROCKING CREW SET THE FOUNDATION FOR THE FLOOR ROCK ... FROM THE ROOTS OF TBB LAYED THE FOUNDATION & GAVE LIFE TO CREWS SUCH AS RSC / CRAZY LEGS & NYC BREAKERS POWERFUL PEX

* On March 12th @ 11:30 pm I started a conversation between myself TRAC2 and TRACE2 TBB… just confirmed a 4th chapter of "TBB Pelham" on Pelham Parkway and the Chapter Prez was Green Eyed Spanky... Established early winter of 1979.

FROM: BATCH TBB.....THE HISTORY OF TBB ROCKING CREW, AND THE FACTS OF ROCK
STEADY'S BIRTH.

Words from Batch Tbb
MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE REAL ROCK STEADY CREW: JIMMY LEE, JIMMY DEE, JOJO, EZ MIKE, AND RUBBER BAND (RONEY WHO INVENTED THE SPIDER WALK IN1977). THE REAL ROCK STEADY TAKING OUT THOSE TOYS FOR REAL FAM. THE REAL ROCK STEADY CREW WAS CREATED IN 1979. THERE WASN'T NO ROCK STEADY CREW AROUND FOR 1977. I SWEAR TO ALL I LOVE THAT IN 1977 WHEN ELVIS PRESIDY DIED, WHEN THE BLACK OUT OF NEW YORK CITY LIGHTS WENT OUT, WHEN JIMMY CARTER BECAME THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, WHEN TBB ROCKING CREW HAD A HIT ON THE SON OF SAM THAT WAS GOING AROUND KILLING BEAUTIFUL BLONDE WOMEN, THERE WASN'T NO ROCK STEADY CREW TO BE FOUND IN THE BURNT DOWN, BROKEN DOWN BOOGIE DOWN BRONX... WHY I KNOW THIS? IS SIMPLE FAM: RESPECTFULLY, I AM BATCH...... SORRY YOU OTHER LATER LEGENDS...
In the meeting held in St.James Park in 1979 when I broke up the TBB Rocking Crew and Jimmy Lee turned his TBB Burnside Ave. division to Rock Steady.... I asked him why that name? And he simply said to me: "Batch, because TBB Rocking Crew was always Rocking Steady!

The first Rock Steady shirts were brown with white letters, and on the bottom of the shirts Jimmy added TBB to let the people know that Rock Steady was actually still The Bronx Boys.

In my years since I knew jimmy he was a true TBB Rocking Crew Vice Pres, from the heart!  He loved The Bronx Boys deeply. In Jimmy's heart, to him, Rock Steady was actually acting as TBB Rocking Crew. I can honestly tell you this much about my brother Jimmy Lee.

Jimmy Lee
was always breaking other crews apart for TBB Rocking Crew when we would go battle against any crew out there back in those old school days. And when I made the decision to break up TBB Rocking Crew jimmy tried to convince me not to. He wasn't alright with my decision but respectfully accepted it since I was the pres of TBB Rocking Crew back then. And when I did, I left him without any other choice but to take his division and change the name of TBB Rocking Crew to Rock Steady which he had named it back in 1979.

As for Crazy Legs, I honestly admire him, and I have nothing but love and respect for him.  Especially for his honorable position today in the world of Rocking/bboy, and for his love and part on the history of Rock Steady. In fact, I am a true fan of his. And lets continue to keep in mind that Crazy Legs was, without question, the main one to continue the original foundation of Bronx Rocking/bboy...

So, just for the record, let me assure all you today in the Rocking communities that I only speak for what is right and fair, and for what TBB Rocking Crew sincerity stands for.
The positive good thing about TBB Rocking Crew is that we have many devoted members that will always support its commuities, and they will see to it that The Bronx Boys will never be left out of the important part and role that we played in the history of Rocking/bboy, which we have been a true part of since 1975.
Respectfully,

I AM LEGEND
BATCH TBB PRESIDENT...
                        ...Rocksteady God Father
PLEASE ALLOW ME TO GIVE MY UTMOST HOMAGE AND RESPECT TO ONE OF THE FIRST DEEJAYS THAT WAS ON THE SCENE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE DEEJAYING ERA. THOUGH DJ LAY-LAY FROM THE FUN CITY CREW WAS KNOWN BY THE MANY LEGENDARY DJS THAT ARE STILL AROUND. WITH US THESE DAYS, DJ BLACKER THAN BLACKER HAS BEEN LEFT OUT OF THE EQUATION OF THE HIP HOP CULTURE. THIS REALITY REMINDS ME ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW, THAT HAD TO BE BROKEN UP IN 1979 BECAUSE THEY HAD BECOME SELF DESTRUCTIVE.. NO ONE BOTHERED BRINGING UP TBB HISTORY IN THE 1980 ALL THROUGH THE 1990S UNTIL I CAME OUT IN THE FRESHEST KIDS MOVIE BEFORE HEADING BACK INTO THE PRISON SYSTEM IN 1996. IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT MOVIE AND ABY ASKING ME FOR THE PERMISSION TO BRING. BACK IUT THIS IMPORTANT LEGENDARY BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW, AND ME WRITING ALL THOSE TBB COMMENTARIES THROUGHOUT THE YEARS WHILE INCARCERATED, NO ONE, NONE OF YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER KNOW ABOUT OUR HISTORY. AND WHAT'S WHAT'S SAD, IS THE FACT THAT MANY THAT RULED THE CULTURE AND HAD GAIN POPULARITY IN THE HIP HOP CULTURE, NEVER BOTHERED TO BREAK DOWN THE HISTORY OF THOSE MISSING LINKS. YET THEY KNEW THE ACTUAL HISTORY. MY BROTHERS. AND SISTERS, PLEASE, LETS GIVE UP FOR BROTHER DJ LAY-LAY FUN CITY CREW, PEACE MAKERS. WHERE MY DOGS AT?? RESPECTFULLY, I AM LEGEND.

THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW DANCING WITH GUNS, I HONESTLY NEVER FELT SAFE AROUND THEM EVEN WHEN THEY PROTECTED ME. BON-2 TBB WAS MY MOST DEDICATED BODY GUARD WHO WOULD WALK AROUND IN THE SUMMER TIMES WITH A SAW OFF SHOT GUN STUFF DOWN HIS PANTS , WEARING A T- SHIRT AND A LIGHT LEATHER JACKET IN THE MOST DANGEROUS NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE BRONX. HE WOULD DO THIS WITH A CONFIDENT CALM SMILE ON HIS FACE. THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW FROM BACK IN THE DAYS IN THE1970S LIKED TO DO MOREFUN THINGS THAN JUST ROCKING.... THE WERE A PACK OFF HYENAS THAT QUITELY SEEKED PROBLEMS AND DANGEROUS ENCOUNTERS WITH LESS THREATENING CREWS.. THAT'S WHAT TRACE-2 (RIP) DID NOT WANT TO SHARE ABOUT TBB HISTORY. BUT I TELL PEOPLE THE TRUTH BECAUSE THERE'S REALLY NOTHING TO HIDE. MANY PEOPLE KNOW THAT LOTS OF TBB AND ORIGINAL ROCK STEADY CREW LEGENDS ARE IN PRISON UP TO DATE SERVING 50 YEARS AND BETTER. PEOPLE KNOW THAT EVEN THE FOUNDING FATHER OF TBB RECENTLY CAME HOME FROM DOING MASSIVE YEARS IN PRISON. PLUS, IF I DON'T BE HONEST OF TBB HISTORY SOME ONE ELSE IS GONNA COME UP WITH IT AND TELL IT THEIR OWN WAY.THANK YOU ABY FOR TRANSFORMING THIS TBB NATION INTO SOMETHING SO LOVINGLY POSITIVE. I BOW TO YOU FOR THIS... RESPECTFULLY, I AM BATCH — with Batch Tbb Offical.

TRACE II TBB 4 LIFE...

Once upon a time in a land far, far, away.......just kidding.....it all started for me in "75 or '76, can't remember which year, when batch came over my house for a visit. I had not seen him since the summer before and i noticed he looked different. by that I mean, he was dressed like a true bboy of our time. he had on a black wide brim hat, a white tank top tee, black sweats and the karate slippers that were popular in those days. he began telling me about the things he'd done over the last summer and that he was now a graffiti writer called BATCH. he also told me that he was doing something called rocking and started showing me how it was done. he turned on the little JVC boombox he brung along and started doing some toprock in the middle of my room.
as he was toprockin' I thought to myself, ok this looks pretty kool. but when he hit the floor, I said to myself WTF is this nigga doing on my floor! this has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life! of course, I didn't let him know how I really felt. didn't wanna diss my cousin, I'm kool like that.lol. so when he invited me to go hang with him at his neighborhood, I went. that's when I first met The Bronx Boys. the first guy from the crew I met was my brother weebles.  whowas the inventor of the float..which is called the hand glide these days.then there was RUM-6(R.I.P.) I also met my brothers TRAC-2, P.BODY 170, BOS, BLUE EYES, SHAGGY, MANNY, BRAT, and a whole lot of kool brothers. when I seen the way the guys danced against each other in a competitive way, I started getting more and more into it, and by the end of my stay there, which lasted two days. I was hooked! what attracted the most was the comeraderie between the crew.they would battle against each other, every man for himself, but in a battle, it was straight crew.!when I got home I found myself practicing in my room, on the same floor that batch had earliershown me the dance.I was obsessed with learning this dance. I ate, slept, and dreamed the dance.finally, the time came when I felt ready to dance in public. nobody knew that I was practicing or that i was even trying to learn.I could've easily had been getting help from trac, or weebles or any of the guys to help me out, but I wanted to do this on my own. I didn't wanna look like a fool in front of the crew, so I went to a jam that wasn't anywhere near Mapes ave and 180th street. I went to a jam on burnside ave that was being thrown by a D.J.  called CISCO on davidson ave.. there wasn't that many people at the jam. and I thought this is perfect!there weren't that many bboys at the time so it took a while for a cypher to pop up. when it did ,I spectated for a minute, and when i saw my chance, i went for it.I was so nervous that I felt my legs shaking. being that I was always a very shy kid this was a big step for me to do on my own.so i did my toprock, i went down and did the six step footwork I learned, and a simple chair freeze.then i got up and just walked away. I didnt need to stay there since I'd done what I came to do. as I walked away I heard someone in the crowd saying YOU SEEN THE WHITEBOY ROCKING ?that's when i knew I was a bboy. once i started dancing with the crew. I was dancing every day, everywhere and every chance I got. my back was always bruised from backspins, my sneakers were always scuffed on the sides from all the footwork, and my hands were full of callouses and bits of glass from the concrete. it was all worth it though. then, since spy , jojo, and shorty rock lived right down the block from where I lived I brung them with me to a battle that trac had set up. that's when everybody met the C.C. CREW. and the rest, as they say, is history.being with the bronx boys rocking crew has been an experience I will cherish forever. even though I was dancing from the time batch showed me, up until '79 when batch broke up the crew,I'm proud of the fact that all our names are still relevant in the game. thanx to trac and the incredible knack he has for details. I wanna thank my brother batch for turning me on to this wonderful thing we have. and I Wanna thank my brother aby for keeping us alive as a crew. To all my new TBB/TBGfam....I see the pride in your comments for the crew you now represent, but it's nothing compared to pride we feel for the way you all are doing everything for the good of the crew..just like we did way back when......god bless you all...the one and only  TRACE2 TBB4LIFE

FROM BON2...
MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO ALL MY TBB/TBG FAMILY.. ALLOW ME TO PROPERLY INTRODUCE MYSELF:... I GO BY THE NAME OF, "BON 2 TBB" AKA TBB JOE."THE BONAFIDE BON".( SOME NAME HUH? LOL).. I MET "BATCH"; FOUNDER OF "THE BRONX BOYS" IN 1977... AND AFTER A LONG CONVERSATION, WITH A FEW BACK AND FORTH QUESTIONS; BATCH BLESSED ME AS... "2nd DIVISION PRES"... OF "THE BRONX BOYS" IN THE EAST TREMONT SECTION OF THE BRONX... I STARTED OUT WITH JUST A FEW GOOD BROTHERS FROM THE HOOD... BROTHERS LIKE: SPEC 2, POE, PICK, VEK, MASH, J.P, TONE-4, MON-5, PRE, ASH, BOM-5 , SHAGGY AND FAT TRACK; JUST TO NAME A FEW...OUR MAIN HANG OUT WAS ON, "BRONX PARK SOUTH, IN HONEYWELL AVE" THERE; IS WHERE WE HAD OUR CLUB CALLED "THE SAND PIT" WE HUNG OUT ALL THOUGH OUT THE BRONX. THIS IS NOT TO TO SAY THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TBG"s, BUT FOR THE SAFETY OF MY TBG"s FEMALE; I NEVER ALLOWED TBG"s TO ROCK SHIRTS REPRESENTING THE CREW; NOR, DID I ALLOW THEM TO LET ANYONE KNOW THAT THEY RAN WITH TBB..

REMEMBER, I COME FROM A DIFFERENT BREED OF TBB; " TBG EXHOTIC CAT" KNOWS THIS INFORMATION WELL, AND MY REASON FOR DOING THIS;.. IT WAS ALL FOR THE SAFETY OF MY TBG"s").. ANYWAY, BY THE SUMMER OF 1978 I HAD OVER A HUNDRED TBB MEMBERS!!! WE COVERED A 10 MILE RADIUS!!! AND WHERE MY DIVISION ENDED;.. BATCH"S DIVISION BEGAN!!!... IN MY OPINION; "TBB ROCKING CREW" IS "THE FIRST ROCKING CREW EVER TO HIT N.Y.C.!!! TBB, ALONG WITH "STAR CHILD LA ROCK" AND "ROCKWELL ASSOCIATION" HAS MADE THE HISTORY THAT WE HAVE TODAY... TBB, ALONG WITH FOUNDERS LIKE: D.J. KOOL HERC, GRAND MASTER CAZ, GRAND MASTER FLASH AND THE FURIOUS -5 IS THE REASON WHY B-BOY AND HIP-HOP EXIST TODAY!!!!. THE BRONX BOYS HISTORY HAS BEEN DEVELOPING SINCE 1975 AND IT HAD EVOLVED INTO SOMETHING I WOLD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED!!.. I THINK I COULD SPEAK FOR BATCH WHEN I SAY THIS; WE HONOR ,RESPECT AND PAY HOMAGE TO ALL OF YOU TBB/TBG MEMBERS FOR IT IS YOU WHO HAS KEPT OUR DREAMS ALIVE!! R.I.P. GEEMAN TBB ROCKING CREW
IN MEMORY OF GEEMAN 1958-2005
My respect and remembrance for GEEMAN will forever be an inspirational and honorable reality in my life!  Which will never leave my heart!  And that of those other wonderful and special memories when he was a true original TBB ROCKING CREW member, from one of the first chapters ever first in the scene in 1975.
GEEMAN never expresses any verbal discussion out in the open about TBB's decision making.  Only in private times with me.  It was all out of respect.  He never wanted to give his fellow members the wrong expression that was trying to tell their resident on how to run the crews policies, ect.. However, in private subjects in my conversation with GEEMAN he always tried to give me valuable and important knowledge and issues that he wanted for me to add to policies of our crew.
He was four years older then me and indeed wiser.  And when he tried to give me better substantial ideas on how to make the crew function in a more positive and considerable level, I would naively disregard his words of wisdom by changing the subject to some other irrelevant issue.  But, not once did GEEMAN ever looked upset or disappointed from my disregarding ways toward him.
GEEMAN had much respect for me.  We were best friends.  He was truly a proud TBB ROCKING CREW member.  All that mattered to him as that he was a strong part of TBB ROCKING CREW.

When TBB ROCKING CREW started to enlarge in 1976 and 1977 he had noticed a bad change within the crew.  He had noticed in what direction the crew was heading toward to which a few years ;ater after we broke up he told me "Damn BATCH TBB became self destructive", but at present time while we were still in existence he kept telling me again and again to straighten up THE BRONX BOYS.  ANd again and again i kept disregarding his idealistic concern for the sake of TBB ROCKING CREW's future and it's directions.

By 1978 I started to feel the crumbling of TBB ROCKING CREW.  And all along GEEMAN stood strong by my side, and supported me and my decisions.  GEEMAN never turned his back on me, even when he had the right to do so.  IN 1979 I sat down with him on a bench in Echo Park in the Bronx to talk about some personal issues i was having with THE BRONX BOYS.  GEEMAN had noticed that what we were going to talk about wasn't good, because he saw such a troubling expression on my face.  I told him that i was having some difficult times trying to keep TBB ROCKING CREW in an organized fashion and away from the negativity that the crew was heading toward to.  As I was in the process of explaining to him what i was experiencing with THE BRONX BOYS, he gave me this direct look like if he already knew everything that i was talking to him about THE BRONX BOYS, he gently looked at me straight in the eyes like if saying "this is what i've been trying to warn you about all along"...then he spoke out and sadly said BATCH you have created something special that one day will go down in history, something beautiful, but at this present time BATCH you are not going to be ble to understand what i really mean..."  I looked at him in a confused and puzzling manner for about five seconds and then i asked him "so where do we have to go from here?"... his eyes got watery and he held his breath for a second and then in a real low tone of voice, with one hand on my shoulder he said "BATCH it is time to let go, you hear me kid?"

In the summer of that same year in 1979 with an empty feeling in my heart I broke up TBB ROCKING CREW.  GEEMAN a down to earth TBB ROCKING CREW member all along wanted to be just that a "proud member" of THE BRONX BOYS ROCKING CREW.  He wanted the very best for his people, and always showed it.  He knew all along that i was a gifted young man.  He admired my ability for how I manage and maintain an ARMY of wild young people.

The bigger TBB ROCKING CREW got, the less I was able to control it.  I owe GEEMAN these words even thought no one ever really knew these things.  But I id and by me sharing these past experiences of mine with others it frees my state of mind completely from any guilt that GEEMAN has left in my thoughts the day he passed the way.  GEEMAN who had his share of many downfalls from the misdeeds of our ghettos in out society had also a troubled lifestyle, like many of our fallen angels.  In any event though, GEEMAN as many of us that knew him personally was a true gentleman, and no one could ever take that away from him.
He once told a group of us in TBB "if you guys are truly TBB ROCKING CREW brothers like I am then I should always be a part of your hearts!  Since my heart belongs to TBB ROCKING CREW for life!"  Following those devoted words of his he had only a crazy big proud smile on his face.  I'll never forget that moment.

Sometimes some of us create meaningful and bright ideas which help us find the excellent things in life.  But sometimes we become focused only on the magical things we were gifted to put together and we neglect the importance of the things that came along with the gift that were put forth in front of us to become truly successful at...

Blessed are the peace makers, for they will be called to guide and protect the gifts and security of others.

Dedicated to GEEMAN with all my heart!

"The Real history of the Rock Steady Crew"

"The Real history of the Rock Steady Crew (The Untold Story). by TRAC 2 "

The Rock Steady Crew was formed in late 1979
but closer to the 80's by Jo-Jo who was a member of the CC Crew.
He wanted to create a crew, and establish his own identity and
not live in the shadows of Spy and Shorty Rock who where the pres and
vice pres of the CC Crew and other top Bboys that were around at that time.
Jo-Jo met an up and coming 1979 Bboy Jimmy Dee (James White) in
Echo Place in the Bronx where Jimmy Dee lived and came up with
the name Rock Steady Crew, but the recognized pres was
Jimmy Lee a former member of The Bronx Boys Rocking Crew.
There were a few other ex-members of TBB who changed crews to
become Rock Steady because of the loyalty they had for Jimmy Lee,
members like Rubberband (brownie), Rim 180 (Jimmy Lee's brother),
Me 2, Boobie, Angel Rock (Skiet), Tito 183, Pauly, Lime 5, Popeye, Les, Slick Rick,
and Green eye's Joe. Easy Mike (Jo-Jo's brother) and a good friend
CN also became Rock Steady members.

The history that has been put out have names of TBB members
that are not Rock Steady members, like Trace 2, Weeble, Doctor Ace,
Brace, and Bon 2 (aka TBB Joe). Trac 2 and Pbody 170 where from
StarChild La Rock, Crazy Legs and Lenny Len battle in 1981 to start a
chapter to Manhattan.
Jimmy Lee and Jimmy Dee started Rock Steady in the beginning of the fall (either Sept. or early Oct. 1979). The very 1st shirts were the brown sweatshirts (long sleeve). Jimmy Lee started getting into other things and that's when he faded off the scene. Jimmy Dee joined the Navy, and Jo-Jo went to job corp,
at that time the Manhattan chapter of Rock Steady excelled to
become the most reconized Bboy crew in the world and had
established there legendary status.

This year The Rock Steady Crew should be celebrating
there 28th anniversary not there 31st.

the govenment was busy with viet nam and other seas ideas and did not come to the populouses rescue .

let the savage natives make noise and call that junk music and perhaps the record companies will make a few bucks.
