The real history of the Rock Steady Crew

"The Real history of the Rock Steady Crew (The Untold Story). by TRAC 2 "
The Rock Steady Crew was formed in late 1979
but closer to the 80's by Jo-Jo who was a member of the CC Crew.
He wanted to create a crew, and establish his own identity and
not live in the shadows of Spy and Shorty Rock who where the pres and
vice pres of the CC Crew and other top Bboys that were around at that time.
Jo-Jo met an up and coming 1979 Bboy Jimmy Dee (James White) in
Echo Place in the Bronx where Jimmy Dee lived and came up with
the name Rock Steady Crew, but the recognized pres was
Jimmy Lee a former member of The Bronx Boys Rocking Crew.
There were a few other ex-members of TBB who changed crews to
become Rock Steady because of the loyalty they had for Jimmy Lee,
members like Rubberband (brownie), Rim 180 (Jimmy Lee's brother),
Me 2, Boobie, Angel Rock (Skiet), Tito 183, Pauly, Lime 5, Popeye, Les, Slick Rick,
and Green eye's Joe. Easy Mike (Jo-Jo's brother) and a good friend
CN also became Rock Steady members.

The history that has been put out have names of TBB members
that are not Rock Steady members, like Trace 2, Weeble, Doctor Ace,
Brace, and Bon 2 (aka TBB Joe). Trac 2 and Pbody 170 where from
StarChild La Rock, Crazy Legs and Lenny Len battle in 1981 to start a
chapter to Manhattan.
Jimmy Lee and Jimmy Dee started Rock Steady in the beginning of the fall (either Sept. or early Oct. 1979). The very 1st shirts were the brown sweatshirts (long sleeve). Jimmy Lee started getting into other things and that's when he faded off the scene. Jimmy Dee joined the Navy, and Jo-Jo went to job corp,
at that time the Manhattan chapter of Rock Steady excelled to
become the most reconized Bboy crew in the world and had
established there legendary status.

This year The Rock Steady Crew should be celebrating
there 28th anniversary not there 31st.
